Dr. Engel take his listeners to a performance of a Shakespeare play during the time period when Shakespeare was alive in order to show what it was like to be in the audience when the greatest author of all time was writing, directing, and performing in his own plays. Using anecdotes, analysis, and large doses of humor, Professor Engel brings to life this most brilliant master of our English language.

Originally from Indianapolis, Indiana, Dr. Elliot Engel now lives in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he has taught at the University of North Carolina, North Carolina State University, and Duke University. He earned his M.A. and Ph.D. as a Woodrow Wilson Fellow at UCLA. While at UCLA he won that university’s Outstanding Teacher Award.
